Latest echolyn Album News

Great news regarding the new echolyn album: Final mixing is to take place on April 22nd, 2012 with special orders following shortly after. The new album will be a 2-CD set and Tom Hyatt describes it as their “Physical Graffiti.”

Stay tuned for the latest updates and I’ll be posting once I’ve returned from the final mixing (yeah baby – I’m going!) with any additional information I can get from the band.

echolyn Nearfest 2002 Concert Video now uploaded!

Official XM Studios webcast of the 2002 Nearfest performance by echolyn is now in the video section of the fansite. This not only a special performance for me personally (it was the 1st time I saw them live) but it’s also has the only live video of mei that includes the full orchestra accompaniment as well as Jordan Perlson on additional drums. (Stars and Gardens DVD does have the orchestra but not Jordan and additional drummer and acoustic guitar)

Ray’s father was also in the audience (I sat in the row just behind him – great guy!) and he mentions his dad right before playing 67 Degrees which is about his time at sea during WWII.

I downloaded this video minutes after XM Studios posted it on their site but for some reason the video was taken down a few hours later never to be released again. Special thanks to Matt Urban over at XM Studios and also to Chad Hutchinson of Nearfest for giving me the ok to share this with you.

There are some technical difficulties in the beginning with the keyboards being too low for the 1st two tracks but other than that the sound is excellent and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
